Adrenal Glands

The two endocrine glands sit at the top of each kidney. Adrenal glands handle stress by producing a variety of hormones to help with stress, physical, mental, and emotions.

  • Balancing internal and external challenges in the body
  • It is the “fight-or-flight” gland

Adrenal controls:

  • Fluid balance
  • Blood sugar balance
  • Acts as a “fuel pump”
  • Controls inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses to injury
  • Immune system
  • Strength response

Adrenal Glands produce steroid hormones that regulate energy, stamina, mood, emotion, well- being, maintain sex hormones, healthy pregnancy, healthy menopause, potency, and fertility. They also produce anti-aging hormones like DHEA and protect against all diseases.

Adrenal Gland functions – there are 2 sections of the gland:

  1. Adrenal Medulla
  2. Adrenal cortex
A) Adrenal Medulla hormone functions:
  • Hormone: Epinephrine/Norepinephrine functions as “fight-or-flight” response which is part of the sympathetic nervous system
B) Adrenal Cortex hormone functions:
  • Hormone: DHEA, Pregnenolom, Progesterone, Estrogen, and Testosterone function as tissue repair, body rebuilding, sex hormones, and anti-aging
  • Hormone: Cortisol, and Glucocorticoids function as blood sugar regulation, anti-inflammatory actions, and immune system modification
  • Hormone: Aldosterone, and Mineralcorticoids function as regulation of sodium, potassium and fluid volume inflammation.
There are many factors leading to adrenal fatigue:
  • Prescription and non-prescription drugs, antacids, oral contraceptives, conventional hormone therapy
  • Lack of relation, smoking, devitalized food, white sugar
  • Allergies, caffeine, persistent negative stressors, repeated stresses
  • Infection (acute or chronic), lack of sleep, emotional stress
  • Persistent fears, psychological stress, counterproductive attitudes and beliefs
  • Hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, workaholic-ism, repeated traumas, marital stress, poor eating habits
  • Alcoholism, toxins, death of a loved one, excessive exercise
  • Sedentary lifestyle, financial stress, trans fats/rancid fats, surgery, junk food, deand-end relationships, unfulfilling employment (dead-end jobs)
